How the hell can this guy still be locked up? It is racist to have to pay for a bail and my God the humanity!! He might catch the virus!!! The Chicago Police Department remains committed to protecting all Chicago residents regardless of their immigration status,” Except for three year old kids

Because it is so much more important to protect the illegals instead of the legal citizen.

Good luck asking Trump for a big bailout to support your “welcoming sanctuary city”.

This is despicable and heart breaking. Totally preventable. This career criminal has been arrested, confined and actually deported…but these people keep letting him out and back into the country. If our elected officials would simply follow the law…this may not have happened.

Leaving a sanctuary city is just one of the many benefits of getting the hell out of Illinois.

The fine work of Progressives: record crime from a system that has been corrupted by the political interest group of SJW’s, the destruction of wealth via confiscatory taxes, and the further destruction of businesses and people’s livelihoods due to overregulation and command and control politics. These people are my enemy. One day someone in my family will be hurt by their policies, and I honestly have no idea what I’ll do. But I’m not going to sit on my ass, that’s for sure. I can’t even imagine how this father feels right now. My heart breaks, and then to read… Read more »

They have been allowed to take what was once a decent city away from you. Chicago and Cook are more like Poland – occupied.

Lori, compassion does not equate to violating the laws of the land. You do not get to have it both ways – you are a hypocrite and have confirmed you are no better than any other criminal. We have a legislative process that allows and provides for change. The laws haven’t changed because there are enough people and legislators who are NOT in favor of said change.

Enforce the laws Lori (or, allow others to do so). YOU ARE NOT BETTER THAN THE SYSTEM.

The amount of blood on your hands is approaching war crime levels, Lori. A shame you’ll never get dragged to the Hague.

In my opinion there may be another reason that Chicago is a sanctuary city. With many people not knowing the language and are hear illegally they tend to fly under the radar when it comes to voicing there opinions. The city and state are banking on the premise that the greater the diversity the less chance they are unified against the state and local policies. For example in the Old Testament when people were building the tower of Babel the Holy Trinity came down and said we must put an end to this for if they work in unison with… Read more »

Lightfoot said “if ICE is complaining, then they should do their job better.”

Let’s remember that nugget when CPD asks for witnesses in a shooting many people witnessed and no one comes forward.

“Prosecutors said the girl’s father heard his daughter’s cries and desperately tried to open the locked stall. He could see her feet dangling off the ground, so he grabbed her legs and pulled her out from under the stall. He ran out of the bathroom with her, leaving Puente inside the bathroom.”

What a nice family trip to McDonald’s ‘flagship’ restaurant for some family fun!

Enjoy the misery Chicago – you voted for it!

Why would anyone, including Wirepoints, want to fight for this city?

Chicago has no redeeming qualities left. What kind of parents expose their families to this level of evil?

At some point Chicagoans you have to look in the mirror. You support a city that allows little children to be hurt for political correctness. You disgust me.

This thing in the mayors office is more concerned about granting comfort and safety to Illegal, Criminal Aliens than the safety of Innocent Men, Women and Children How dare we let this thing continue to take a tax payer salary while undermining the safety of citizens.

There needs to be a HUGE protest against the Mayor of Chicago!

And, by the way, what does Lori have to say about the violence that is becoming even and ever more pervasive? Do we just need bigger handouts? Look folks, the advent of the information age has provided those fortunate enough to be born in our country the ability to learn almost anything. Simply make the choice to read, use the internet, buy used textbooks, whatever. It is all right here and mostly inexpensive…

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
