Chicago police already have a “significant and robust” leave policy — the ability to take 365 days off every two years, Mayor Brandon Johnson’s senior adviser Jason Lee said. But FOP President John Catanzara lambasted Johnson for establishing one standard of benefits for the mayor’s former union and another, lesser standard for the union representing rank-and-file Chicago Police Department officers: "The only bargaining unit this mayor cares about is the teachers union."
Will the hiring of illegals for ‘law enforcement’ be for an open shop? Chicago should outsource law enforcement to private agencies.

Well. CPD officers can take one year’s worth of days off every two years, their pension is an underfunded disastrous mess, their moral is in the toilet, crime is a big green dismal tide washing over them and Chicago, they’re pestilentially understaffed, and they and their union don’t like the people in charge, who return the favor by not supporting them.
Sounds about normal for a public employee union in Illinois.
Wonder what the weather’s going to be like today?

What about all the other no negotiating required benefits deals like; 1.) the 5 covid sick days ctu got to add to their banked sick days? Im shocked fop, seiu, etc aren’t demanding similar deals. 2.) Or the covid disability cops and fire can claim per state legislation? Similarly I’m shocked ctu, teacher, seiu, afscme, etc aren’t demanding similar deals…and on and on…as usual a lawyers feast on the chump taxpayers dime no doubt.

1.) Teachers get all summer off, spring break, vacation, etc. 2.) Is there any other major city police dept where officers get 365 days off every 2 years? And if yes, why isn’t this benifit ever mentioned as part of ot/staffing crisis at CPD?—I’m sure I’ll get a lot of down votes, but the teacher, cop and other public sec jobs are in reallity PART TIME JOBS compared to anything in private sector!!!…..hopefully I’m retired, but the last job I was at everyone in co got 15 days combined vacation/sick days. Im sure the total MH worked per year for… Read more »
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
