SJWs make heroes out of criminal offenders who aggressively refuse to comply with police orders during a pursuit/arrest. Single-frame photos excised from body-cam videos, judged by SJWs as evidence of “police brutality” refuse to acknowledge that crimes were committed, that resisting arrest and refusing to obey police officer are also crimes, and that police have no mandate to allow themselves to be shot at, or otherwise injured, in effort to preserve a suspect’s own perceived rights to evade arrest. It’s a topsy-turvy world we live in now. I’d expect a near carnival of rioting and looting, regardless of Floyd verdict,… Read more »

Perhaps the CPD should give the city a taste of what a defunded police force looks like. Perhaps all CPD officers should be sent on mandatory vacation from now until one week after the Chauvin verdict is returned. When they return they can go out and fill in the reports which will then be put in the Kim Foxxx “Do Not Prosecute” folder. The chicagos woke residents will truly find out if this is what they want and if they want to continue to live in such a city.

Very hard to ban things people can carry to a protest, but one look at the Tribune’s pictures of the Toledo gathering you notice all the backpacks and bicycles. It looks suspiciously like the people are waiting for the peaceful assembly to become a battleground.

Ban umbrellas from protests!

Man up Mayor Lightfoot.

Oh, the lawbreakers receive a get out of jail free or soft on crime card from Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx anyways.

Triple Threat and Double Threat making Chicago dangerous.

Those boring suburbs are looking pretty good.

Chicago voters have had a lot to do with the mess those living in the non Chicago areas.
Riot, trash and loot because Chicago voters deserve every bit of this.

Chicago crime is out of control. Residents need to decide police or no police.
Cannot have it both ways!

This case has me really pissed off. Not because of the kid dying, but because of the way people are reacting like this is a clear cut case of murder. For every 1 of these cases there are probably hundreds where that split second was a few milliseconds longer, enough to prevent the officer from having to pull the trigger first. But we never see these cases on tv. We are literally arguing over milliseconds. These people blaming the officer are completely out of their f’ng minds. They have absolutely no critical thinking skills and zero perspective. They operate on… Read more »

My thoughts exactly! A 13 year old, out on the streets at 2:30am, with a gun! Where’s the parenting? But yet everyone rushes to judgment and blames the officer.

Apparently the 13 year old was known by the name “Lil Homicide”. Tragically, the name was a self fulfilling prophecy. And as Deb points out the uproar should be over the lack of parenting here.

“These people blaming the officer are completely out of their f’ng minds. ” They know this but they call it murder because they hate the police in general and especially white cops. That’s why they do it. They aren’t rational. They don’t have a reasonable position. They ignore all of the other evidence to push a narrative. They don’t care that the 13 year old had just been part of an attempted murder as they fired 8 shots at a moving car of a rival gang banger. They want gangs to control the streets, instead of the police, like a… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
