When looking at only teachers, the total was fairly steady: 23,290 teachers in 2012, 23,979 in 2024. The increase in teachers is much more modest at 689 or 3%, but stands out given the precipitous decline in student enrollment.

Makes perfect democrat sense. You need more teachers to teach non-existent children, because non-existent children don’t test well and can’t read or write at grade level.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
