Still, Mayor Brandon Johnson acknowledged “there’s a lot more work for us to do. ... We’re not patting ourselves on the back yet. But we are certainly grateful for moving toward this positive trend.”
I’m curious. What exactly was done by Mayor Pinhead to get these results? The true answer is nothing. But I would like to hear what he supposedly changed to reduce murders.
Excellent point! Remember that the only reason many of these wounded are still alive is due to excellent medical care, technology, and advancements. Decades ago many of these wounded would have died.

The City Creeps keep celebrating less murders but its actually more per capita .Plus , the city figures don’t take into account the homicides on the Expressways, which is RIDIC!!!!! Final 2025 Totals (vs 2024) Shot & Killed: 362 (-32%) Shot & Wounded: 1592 (-35%) Total Shot: 1954 (-34%) Total Homicides: 433 (-29%)
While the city doesn’t count the number of homicides on expressways within the borders of the city, I’m curious how many of these types of homicides occurred during 2025?

Not to split hairs but Chicago’s population in 1965 was about 3.5 million versus today’s 2.7 million. That does make a difference.
The thugs make up for it by converting their weapons into automatics.

The city feels a lot different than it did before 2020. A lot of people have moved out or don’t spend as much time downtown anymore. No reason to risk being a crime victim.
It feels different because the perception that the city is dangerous, not the actual crime numbers, will keep people away from downtown and keep downtown in its doom loop.
Thank the Marxists.

Welcome to 2026 – they are only celebrating a clean restart of the body count. Maybe they could post the lower murder rate on billboards to get people to move back to Illinois. Yikes.

Nothing to see here ppl, Trump and the National Guard have nothing to do with it! Move along now,
I guess all those illegals weren’t spending all their time just picking lettuce here.
We still have lettuce in the grocery stores AND murders are down? Win win!
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
