Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. JB is an entitled jerk. 35–40 years ago, I worked as an usher at Lyric Opera. Aisle 2 of the Main Floor was my post. Best guess he would try to get the VP endorsement. Little to no chance for president but that depends on who runs. Even if he was somehow successful on getting the Senate seat from Blago being a senator does not give him the power to do anything he wants to changing policy. As governor he has more power without answering to other members of Congress.
