Chicago spared immigration raids Tuesday, but Pritzker warns feds may target ‘2,000 people’ – Chicago Sun-Times

Gov. JB Pritzker said the Trump Administration has not communicated with his administration about their plan. “We have heard that they’re targeting as many as 2,000 people initially in the city of Chicago alone,” Pritzker said. “I don’t know whether they’ll effectuate that or how, and I want to be clear about what my position is and what the law is. If there are violent criminals who have been convicted of violent crimes, who are undocumented, they are supposed to be deported. That is the law of the United States and has been for quite a long time. I don’t want them in my state. I don’t want them in the country.”

So Governor, you’ll let Illinois law enforcement work with Immigration officials to deport those who have broken “the law of the United States and has been for quite a long time”? Because “undocumented” means they broke the law to enter.

LOL this is totally different than what he was saying a few weeks ago…if he doesn’t want illegal, violent criminals in the state, why does he prohibit local law enforcement from working with ICE? Like I said, I think law enforcement is actually working with ICE behind the scenes in a supportive rol, but can’t say so publicly for fear of a Democrat backlash. Remember, ALL of Illinois’s reps and senators voted AGAINST the Laken Riley Act which would deport illegal violent criminals. Someone in the IL Democrat Party needs to break ranks, and say, folks, this is common sense,… Read more »

Also remember I said that people connected to Trump laughed when it was ‘leaked’ that Chicago would be the first to be targeted? LOL. There’s no unintentional leaks in this administration. This might be the tightest ship ever created. Everyone there is single-mindedly focused on MAGA and there is a shared hatred of journalists. The Chicago folks will never know when it’s coming and it will be HUGE, nothing they can prepare for, multiple raids at the same time…

JB is starting to fine tune his definition of “ his people “ in his usual doublespeaking, back peddling Dem style.

Isn’t Illinois Fun?

Priceless. Mr. Safe-T Act reduces public safety with lax bail and prosecution policies that enable violent criminals to remain on the street and now he’s ok deporting illegals but won’t remove our own criminals from the street.

JB states he on board with feds rounding up the criminal migrants in Chicago but apparently is not going to offer state assistance. Or would he offer state assistance outside Chicago? I guess Brando & crew are OK with letting the criminal migrants stay? They’re “welcome” in standalone Chicago?. …all while its my understanding mayor Adams in NYC and other sanctuary cities are now apparently on board assisting ICE to round-up the criminal migrants, similar to modification of Chicago sanctuary ordinance Alder Lopez & Tabares were proposing

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
