Chicago Teachers Union spent $173K on poolside recording studio, won’t show audit to members – Illinois Policy

CTU counted the money for the studio as “representational activities,” which the U.S. Department of Labor defines as those activities “associated with preparation for, and participation in, the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements and the administration and enforcement of the agreements.” It is unclear what a recording studio in New Mexico has to do with contract negotiations or administration in Chicago.

Why do an audit? The majority of their members can’t read leave alone interpret an audit. It’s not like it requires an education to be a CTU “teacher.”

Perhaps the were making a rap video extolling the virtues of Marxism and the evils of getting an education, a job and paying taxes. Throw in a dash of colonialism for good measure.
