Chicago to begin coronavirus reopening plan Wednesday despite unrest, Lightfoot says – WGNTV (Chicago)

“Everywhere I went, I asked … Should we open? Or should we delay?” Lightfoot said. “And to universal acclaim, emphatically what I heard from people was, ‘Mayor, we have to step forward. We have to open.’”

For anyone who cares, the comments over at Capitol Fax, for once, seem to be very skeptical of Lori’s response to this, and some of the regular posters seem to admit that this might qualify as a disaster. I wasn’t expecting that response from Capitol Fax of all places. There’s a bunch of randos commenting too that they are very unhappy with IL’s response to this looting, that still continues, even today.
