Chicago’s $1 million-plus speed cameras hurting low-income areas – Illinois Policy

Nearly half of Chicago’s highest cash-generating speed cameras were on the South Side. Two, including the top $3.1-million camera, are hitting Ward 20 Ald. Jeanette Taylor’s low-income constituents with fines she said they can’t afford.

The progressive trend is to decriminalize antisocial behavior. Which turns city streets into shooting galleries and outdoor drug markets and crime flourishes. Then they are shocked to learn that the Marxist textbooks did not predict this would happen.

I am not a fan of red light cameras at all, but maybe Taylors constituents should learn how to obey traffic laws?

Low income areas have the highest non-compliance with traffic laws? Who would have guessed! It’s not like anyone would have predicted this! It is the cameras’ fault!
