Ted joined Dan and Amy to talk about how half of Chicago’s 911 calls had no police available to respond in 2023 so far, why the Safety Act will reduce the number of criminals in jail, why Gov. Pritzker is calling opponents of the Gotion deal “xenophobes,” the latest dismal student outcomes at CPS, and more.

If this bill passes, say goodbye to local control over all Illinois parks and expect to see open drug and alcohol use, needles, no sanitation and fire hazards, but no ordinary park users.
You guys make me laugh. Nothing is going to change; except they are all going to get raises. Government is laughing all the way to the bank.
Does anybody remember when the Chicago Police had a response time to all 911 calls of 3 minutes or less??
When Chicago schools were some of the best-rated in the country?
Hell, can anybody remember when there were no single residence water meters and the water was free??
Those were the days my friend, we thought they’d never end, we’d sing and dance forever and a day.
We’d live the life we choose, we’d fight and never lose; those were the days, oh, yes, those were the days….
By saying they ‘own’ the disastrous outcomes of their policy decisions, you have assigned a moral value to the outcomes. You’re saying it’s a bad thing that crime is way up, violence is up, businesses and people fleeing. However, these people don’t share your moral framework. They don’t even live in the same universe as you. They don’t see anything that’s happened as ‘bad’ or ‘wrong’ or ‘disastrous’ at all. In fact, they don’t think there is even anything wrong. They believe these are all good things. Because they are progressives and progressives abandon all common sense to arrive at… Read more »
Debtsor, I remember they said the same thing about Detroit 40 years ago — you don’t live here, suburbanites, etc. Now half of the community lives in the suburbs and they don’t use it against them anymore. One caveat though: Detroit is a shadow of its former self and there’s no Northsiders to fleece like there is in Chicago. In short, productive people and businesses are long gone and Detroit is now a ward of the State of Michigan and… Read more »
Chicago leadership owns everything. Problem is they wouldn’t know a “disastrous result” if it hit ’em up along side the head. They have their own interpretations and they think everything is fine BECAUSE this is exactly what they want. It really is us and them.
Yes, this is exactly what they want, and they say “Shut the F up about Chicago” when you try to criticize them.
Anybody miss Mayor Richard J. (Boss) Daley yet?
To be fair as good as Daley was he also caved to every city union demand and just kicked the can on pensions. Rahm at least fought the unions but didn’t get very far. I do wonder though if Daley would have more pull with the unions in this financial crisis and be able to get concessions. I would have loved to see the the fat commie pig karen lewis or weasel scumbag sharkey go up against Daley, my guess is their houses would mysteriously have burned down.
Pull down a few more statues and open the Marxist give away stores in the self- inflicted food deserts and everything will be just fine, right Mayor Tupac?
