The $1.15 billion payout gave the city a quick fix for its budget gap, but critics said the money wasn’t handled wisely. Promises to save some of it for future needs, like pension obligations, didn’t really pan out.

Chicago pols aren’t content with just the mismanagement of public funds. They squander public assets too.

If the state legislature really wanted to be helpful, they would enact a heavy tax on street parking revenue in Chicago, and pass most of the proceeds to the City.

Another example of politicians lying to the public with no personal consequences. Daley2 ended up smelling like a rose with a comfy do nothing job at the law firm who,handled the deal, his chief of staff ended up,running the parking meter company and the taxpayers, citizens of Chicago take another one in the behind.
