Chicago’s top cop pleads with public after Labor Day weekend shootings wound 8 kids – FOX32 (Chicago)

Brown described three circumstances in which children are injured by gunfire: being struck by a bullet meant for another target; being mistaken for someone else; or when "the targeted person is visiting a relative during a holiday or doing a family gathering, and they're being targeted and the family members are being shot as innocent bystanders." Speaking directly to the criminal offenders, he asked: "Why are you continuing to be around young people, our children? That’s on you."

Pleading with the public is just as effective as pleading with the guys on the street in the CPD. Brownie has thrown them all under the bus at one time or another. He has proven himself to be a yes man for a cop hating mayor. He has proven that the cop on the street means nothing to him. He has proven that he is a “leader” that can’t be trusted to do right by his fellow officers. No wonder no one will listen to him or trust him. The first thing taught in military leadership is Mission, Troops, and… Read more »

That’s how hopeless the situation has become. He didn’t ask the criminals not to shoot adults, only not to shoot children. Let’s let the children at least grow to be adults; then, you can shoot them, I guess. Here’s a novel idea: make the law enforcement much stronger and effective to drastically reduce the number of killings.

Yes! This will work, let’s just ask the criminals to stop! Why didn’t we think of this at the start of summer? Was this Carter’s idea? It sounds like the “out of the box” type brilliance that he would come up with, he deserves another medal for this one!

Next we will be paying the bangers weekly for not shooting someone. Sorry Carter, that one’s already been thought of, the goofs in SF are already doing that. SMH

How pathetic to go begging. Elliot Ness didn’t beg when faced with lesser evils. Maybe the superintendent has Stockholm Syndrome.

If the “leaders” would take 25% of their effort from the daily Covid blab and put it toward mental health and police patrols, Chicago wouldn’t be in the sorry state it is. Why is it so hard for them to figure out police need to be allowed to do their job? They pretend they care and yet all these young people are still being shot. Time for a new plan.

Pleading with the Public is stupid. Nothing will happen at all. If you want change send in the National Guard, and get serious about eradicating crime. South Florida was willing in the 80s but never Chicago.

They are career criminals, they don’t care about anyone but themselves. It never occurs to them that they are endangering others, including children. They only care about number 1!

The weekend isn’t over yet! Maybe if Lori loosened the ropes on the police? These mass shootings are annoying Lori and potentially disturbing her nap time. Want to close some of the missing persons? Try the city auto pounds. Open every trunk; those are voters!
