Perception. The average traveling American family doesn’t want to gamble his one vacation on what is perceived as a lawless free-for-all. I honestly think that family would be just fine vacationing here, but they don’t think so, and what they think is what truly matters.
What’s funny is that vacationing wokesters, who already live in the big cities, are more likely to vacation in Nashville or a resort town than another woke city.

Why would you come to city that might require you to wear a dirty face diaper or show proof of party loyalty by means of a pretend vaccine on any given week? No thanks, NY, Chi, LA et al can go die, the rest of the country is open for business and playing this fool’s game.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
Maybe the hotels could start promoting how close they are to nearest Emergency Room.

Tourism is up everywhere and resort-type destinations are booming, all at the expense of big cities, and especially so Chicago.
And rightfully so.
