Christopher Columbus statues removed from Chicago’s Grant Park, Little Italy – WGNTV (Chicago)

The White House plan to send federal law enforcement agents to Chicago came after a protest over the statue led to police swinging batons and demonstrators hurling frozen water bottles, fireworks and other projectiles at officers.

Grant Park is for Americans. Columbus should have been placed in Columbus Park (1933). ?

OUR FEAR SHOULD NOT BE COVID, IT SHOULD BE AGAINST THE DEMOCRATIC COMMUNISTS. This virus was brought in by the Communists as a pre-cursor, to have a psychological effect on All People in the USA of Fear!
This was planned by the communists and they are winning!
Let your fears subside and get out and Fight Back against the Communists! Those with pre-existing conditions, choose your battle, but the rest of us, Against Communism, BLM, Antifa, need to push FEAR out of the way and Fight for America!

Wow! Italian-Americans and all Americans should be outraged! Yet, how many voted for this derelict mayor? Elections have consequences.

The City is no longer run by any elected officials or the people. It is run now by the screaming and violent “protesters” and BLM. To remove the symbol of Italian American history, because some do not “like it”? Sad.

I am not sure Lightfoot and the rest of our elected officials remember that …there are other people living here too?! Others with heritage, history and pride in their communities.

Then to claim it’s removal is for the public safety and do it under the cover of darkness. Wow. So disappointed in our government and country today.

Well, you have the local editorial pages making excuses for the derelict mayor and Chicago’s Democrats. Chicago has problems so great I’m not sure they can be fixed without significant change in leadership.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
