Illinois lost a crown jewel when they lost Ken Griffen.
He also said to call Chicago a third world country would be an insult to third world countries.
He is spending billions in Florida; they are the big winners.

I believe the term is ‘killing the golden goose.’

And I hope Griffin means it – a country under Pritzger’s thumb is unthinkable.

Our thought leaders and influencers laughed and mocked Griffen when he left, told him to not let the door hit his butt on the way out…I don’t think they care that he’s gone. He’s a wealthy cisgender conservative white male. Our state would rather have 10,000 homeless illegal immigrants instead. They’ve made this abundantly clear.

I guarantee you they weren’t laughing, and don’t consider those that mocked Griffen their influencers or leaders. No, our state would rather not have 10,000 homeless immigrants instead.… Read more »

But the democrat party position was pretty uniformly that IL will be a better place without alt-right Griffen in the state. As for my comments sections, I post here because, quite frankly, I have more time on my hands than I know what to do with at the moment. I also sit at a computer all day away from my home with lots of down time waiting for various other things to happen in the world before I can do… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
