If you notice Dist 227 spends $21,251 per student. Probably top heavy with administrative bloat. What would the cost per student be if calculated with teachers salaries ONLY? That figure is what should be provided as in “Education shall be free K-12” according to the constitution. Anyone’s salaries not teaching should be charged to parents as Tuition. Teachers free. Everything else tuition. Then we’ll see if parents get involved with contract negotiations when they are responsible for costs associated with excessive bloat.
