Column: Campaign contributions to Welch’s wife raise question: Is Madigan era truly over? – Chicago Sun-Times*

"There is tremendous power in the speakership — the ability and resources to reward and punish his colleagues with cash, people power and appointments. These donors can be seen as helping a qualified woman of color contribute to the public good. But they could also be viewed as trying to curry favor and get ahead with their powerful leader. That went on all day long in the Madigan era."

Is Madigan era over? What a dumb question. It isn’t “Madigan era”. Its the Democrat machine. Madigan just happened to be the most recent corrupt Democrat at the head of the crime syndicate. The criminal enterprise between Democrat politicians and public sector labor unions like AFSCME, SEIU, CTU and IFT is still going strong. Crush the unions and start sending the union memebers to prison alongside their political puppets and then you end the Democrat machine.

I love that response. These insider contributions are warranted because there has never been a black candidate elected from that district. Oh. OK. Sleazeball insider pressure is ok if you are fighting racism? Huh?

Welch says “that area has never elected a Black person or a woman to the bench”.

What he doesn’t mention is that her opponent is also a qualified black woman- Chloe Pederson.

Count on CTU’s demands to veer further from reality until the public finally says no.

Ted joined Dan and Amy to talk about a new law passed by the Democratic supermajority and signed by Gov. J.B. Pritzker that results in brazen election interference, keeping Republicans off ballots; about a referendum that tests the waters for a renewed progressive income tax hike; about how the Parental Notification referendum question was knocked off the ballot; and why laws like that pass so easily.

Chicago needs more champions of literacy like Willie Wilson – Wirepoints

It’s rare to see city leaders in Chicago take an open, unabashed stance on the collapse of literacy. To complain is deemed as too political, too racist or too anti-public schools. So it’s refreshing to see Willie Wilson, a successful businessman and leader of the black community, call for a literacy initiative “with the goal of getting 100% of Black students reading at grade level.”
