Column: Gov. JB Pritzker gives as good as he gets in political slug fests – Champaign News-Gazette

Jim Dey: "One thing Pritzker certainly hasn’t done is show any sign of backing off. That’s one aspect of Pritzker’s political personality that is striking and, to many, appealing. He’s a belligerent pol who never pulls a punch. Usually, he bashes defenseless Republicans. But he’ll go after anyone who crosses him."

The JB bull s– only works so well with a certain type of electorate and a certain type of press. Illinois provides both of those for the Gov- a lazy and ignorant voter base teamed up with a lazy and politically tainted press. His circus antics and fabrications won’t play well in any red or purple state, and he will likely look like a fool in some blue– but educated –states like Michigan or Mass. He will get a whoopin’ when he tries to go national.

Yeah, JB is a real tough guy. This is comical. JB Pritzker scares nobody. The media is a joke, and that is becoming clearer everyday.

Establishment media in IL make Pritzker’s political life easy by being Pravda. Nothing of accomplishment there by Pritzker, nothing at all.

That’s quite a love letter to JB the Hutt, a ‘leader’ by position only plus his entire life as a spoiled rich trust fund baby. Illinois nakedly Gerrymandered voting districts guarantee a leftist Dem stranglehold on Illinois’ direction, with no meaningful opposition. Add to that the feckless Republicans’ penchant for offering up candidates such as the completely reprehensible Weepy Adam Kinsinger and other criminals and perverts, and you have no opposition in the Illinois Reichstag. Single party rule generates single party rules. It doesn’t usually end well. Cash stuffed creatures of the Hutt’s ilk aren’t simply used to hearing ‘yes… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
