Mark Brown: "But there’s a big complication: how to accommodate a growing Latino community that is seeking greater representation without violating the voting rights of the city’s shrinking African American population, whose leaders say they are determined to keep what they have. Factor in a Chinatown community that’s pushing for the city’s first majority Asian American ward along with a big influx of new mostly white residents near downtown who have overfilled their existing wards, and you can see why there is considerable uncertainty over whether the council can work out its differences by the deadline."

If the negroe population is declining, there should be a proportional reduction in wards. Jason Ervin, dope king and former nimble cat burglar. Probably a CPS alum.

Black and Hispanics will vote as one block to reduce the number of white wards. Whites voting to keep white wards proportionate is racist and no member of city council would dare say that out loud. There’s an old saying that if you’re not at the table, then you are on the table; and in this case, the Black and Hispanic (and soon to be Asian) caucus is at the table drawing the maps..which means we all know who is on the table. Hmmm… I’m a little confused about why wards are important. Representation? City Services? A voice in the city council? Your more likely to be shot in your sleep by Alec Baldwin than get anything from your elected representative. How about Chicago’s most remembered Democratic precinct Captain,The Honorable John Wayne Gacy! A proud Democrat.
