Column: Jussie Smollett, little clown on trial, alone: But why aren’t the big clowns in the courtroom, too? – John Kass

"Smollett was originally charged with 16 counts of making the whole thing up, but Cook County State’s Atty. Kim Foxx mysteriously bathed Smollett in the waters of the Chicago Way and quietly dropped all 16 counts against him. But she forgot to mention was that she had private communications with another Smollett fan, former First Lady Michelle Obama chief-of-staff Tina Tchen who lobbied his case."

Why isn’t this televised? I want to see the judge lunge. I suspect he was leaning in because he couldn’t understand the defense attorney.

Kass nails all the points here. I also have no sympathy for Jussie and hope he serves time. He would probably enjoy it. Lil Kim should be charged for prosecutorial misconduct, for this case and for what she does on a daily basis. The liberal media has zero credibility at this point. President Mumbles gets a pass because he can’t remember what he had for breakfast and the giggle machine VP is just about past her 15 minutes. I guess failed Mayor Pete is on deck. He’d pardon Jussie in an instant and have him over to the White House.

Smollett’s defense in this trial is that the two Nigerian brothers forced Smollett to create the hoax. So when it comes right down to it, Smollett amidst all kinds of allegations of white racism is now blaming two black guys!

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
