Commentary: In 40 years as a journalist, I visited every Chicago neighborhood. For the first time, I now fear for my safety. – Chicago Sun-Times

Andy Shaw: "Sure, I’m a 75-year-old senior now, long past the 'bulletproof' vibrancy of youth — but I feel like the same person, only traversing a different city that has many more palpable threats...I won’t stay home barricaded behind locked doors. But I sure as hell won’t walk alone down any deserted neighborhood street after dark until Chicago feels more like the city I used to know."

Andy Shaw has supported the same democrats who are responsible for the situation on our street today. Go cry your crocodile tears somewhere else. Twit!

Only now he feels scared? Crime doubled in Logan Square during the pandemic. Really, never thought of Logan Square as particularly safe anyway.
I lived in Chicago for decades–as a lower middle-class woman, I felt scared many times. I had to take public transportation home late at night; I’ve been mugged; had drug dealers living next door……

Andy I’ve got some bad news for you. Take it from a well meaning ex-Detroiter. The city you used to know is gone for good. The cemeteries in Detroit are full of guys waiting for it to come back.

Hah!
No northern rust belt city has ever come back. They just rust away. Chicago will look nice for a long time, but it’s being hollowed out by the Dems, and they don’t care. It’s their goal and their plan is working.
