Commentary: On immigration, Chicagoans really are different – Chicago Tribune*

Will Johnson, of The Harris Poll: "Our public opinion research has shown that Chicago residents generally reject most of Mayor Brandon Johnson’s progressive policies and consider him largely ineffective. But when it comes to shielding immigrants, many of them have got his back: Supporters of sanctuary policies at the city or state level outnumber opponents by 2 to 1, with a plurality of 46 percent of Chicago adults in favor, according to our polling."

This article is nonsense and spin designed to give cover for the America LAST crowd–they LOVE their illegals. Mass deportation Now, Amnesty Never.

I don’t buy these numbers either, though support nationally for Trump on immigration has indeed slipped. This part makes no sense on its face about Cook County in suburbs: “3 in 5 say they’re dissatisfied with how the federal government has handled things, while 43% in the city and 57% in the suburbs rate the local response as satisfactory.”

One should always be wary of the statistical validity of these surveys. Without a statistically valid sample, you can have a survey support anything; e.g., 67 percent of those polled agreed the world is flat.

I don’t know whom Egghead Thinktank spoke to, but most of the people that I know aren’t in favor of illegals gobbling up social services like a herd of locusts. Let’s put sanctuary status up to a vote statewide and see the results.

The benefit to illegal immigrants in Chicago comes from walking down city streets and forgetting your still actually living in Illinois.
