Commentary: So-called progressive prosecutors have failed in their responsibility to follow the law – Chicago Tribune*

"So-called progressive prosecutors are not progressive in the traditional sense. They are politically driven and have served only to degrade the quality of the criminal justice system in communities throughout the United States. With Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx at the helm, Black Chicagoans are being slain more than their white counterparts. In 2021, Chicago recorded 797 homicides, and in 2022, there were 695, both more than any other city in the United States, with Black residents comprising nearly 80% of those killed."

The media has played an OUTSIZED roll in the mess that’s become Chicago, and the Chicago Tribune is at the forefront of it. The Chicagoland metropolitan area is 4 million+, and the Trib’s subscription base is a little more than 100k, a paper that that once adorned the morning driveways of all communities…pathetic. Don’t give me that nonsense that “people are reading it online”; they’re not! Do you know anybody that reads the Trib online?

Since we are focusing on race here I wonder what the race of the killers are? It is so difficult to tell being the media, Chicago Tribune in the instant case, hides the race of the killers. So Chicago Tribune being you opened the door to this being a race issue just what is the racial makeup of the killers?

If there was an election tomorrow for Cook County States Attorney the Tribune and Sun Times would both endorse her and the idiot voters would elect her overwhelmingly.

Hard to believe that the Pravda Tribune printed this. Someone at the editorial board is going to be canceled and burned at the stake.

A relative of mine recently died, and the executor of the will said she refused to place an obituary in the Trib or Slime Times, because she didn’t want to give those liberal rags even a dime of her dead mother’s money! LOL

It’s a difficult concept to grasp, but the community WANTS to live like this. They WANT to live in a society where they can shoot at each other with impunity, and exact revenge from others for private disputes. They voted overwhelmingly for Kim Foxx, in some wards, 95%+ for Kim Foxx. They are perfectly OK with the shootings, the robberies, the looting, the assaults, the crime, the death. Those aren’t OK with it have already fled to safer places, a long time ago. They’d rather shoot 50 rounds into a crowd of children on a school yard to kill one… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
