State Reps. Brad Halbrook, Dan Caulkins and Chris Miller:
"How bad is it? Remember the 1995 “pension ramp” that ended up accelerating the state’s fiscal crisis and running up the highest pension liability in the nation? Well, the new energy bill is “1995 Pension Ramp” on steroids.
Over the next nine years, the energy bill will dismantle nearly 35% of our electrical generation capacity and at the same time force ratepayers to spend over $5 billion on wind and solar projects that currently make up 10% of our electrical power generation after decades of taxpayer support."
This is simply Porky trying to be Greener than some other idiot. None of that nonsense will ever happen, it will just create a mess for the next genius.

At least they didn’t close a nuke plant, that the main relief over all this. it will be a giant $h1t show if any of those were to shut down. You could cover all of DeKalb County in windmills and it wont be as good as a single nuke plant.

I don’t understand, why don’t we just buy our electricity from all the excess that’s generated by other states from wind and solar.
Illinois politicians are gonna get electricity from electricity trees just like the cash trees they are growing.

Illinois Demokrats want to one-up CA. What’s left of manufacturing in Illinois will have to leave for Indiana or other Red States. Demokrats in Illinois are now baseline budgeting with Federal bailouts which are printed money. Demokrats are the economic menace which will collapse America. But they know that.

A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
