Repeal in whole. Politicians who go against the safety of citizens need to step aside, forever! Jail the criminals and throw away the keys!
My skeptical & cynical nature tells me this (and a lot of other legislation) is purposely designed to cause lawsuits, enriching the lawyers, many of whom are or were politicians…
Repeal and replace.
One of the better commentaries I’ve read on the SAFE-T Act. Violates the state constitution twice: single-subject rule and attempting to re-write a clause via the Legislature. All 3 authors worked in a legal or judicial capacity. The criminal justice system in Illinois may very well be in need of adjustment and change. But the SAFE-T Act is not constitutionally sound and contains provisions that do not protect the public. It should be repealed.
