Consumer Price Index and changing food prices for the Chicago metro area – Chicago Tribune/MSN

Prices in the Chicago-Naperville-Elgin area, as measured by the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers, increased 0.1% in August, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. Regional Commissioner Jason Palmer noted that the food index rose 0.7%, and the energy index fell 6.6% in August.
