Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The FBI has the tools and resources to put this spike in carjackings down and actually bypass the local prosecutors ineptitude. What was described in this article as the “pros” is a conspiracy and racketeering and given the discussion of selling the cars overseas most definitely violates federal laws. Given the power of wire taps and subpoenas they could take down the whole syndicate pretty quickly. It doesn’t matter if they get caught. The carjackers know Lil Kim won’t be charging them. It’s a joke, but the joke is on them. These losers will never amount to anything. Doomed to a life of underachievement and boredom by the people that claim to have their best interests in mind. Sooner or later they’ll overdose or step in front of a bullet.
