Cook County Clerk Monica Gordon announces new DEI initiatives – Chicago Sun-Times

Gordon announced that she will appoint the office’s first deputy clerk of diversity, equity and inclusion, a position that she said will be tasked with making sure “everything the clerk’s office does is rooted in equity.” She said more DEI measures will be integrated into her office after her transition team completes its report next month.

DEI exists for white people in this country — always has. White people are up in arms over anything that tries to level the playing field. Equal is good. Black people want equal. Sadly, without DEI laws many white people (not all – because their are some good white people in the world to be sure) but sadly, left to their own devices white people have a long history of being prejudiced against Black people and will not give them a fair EQUAL chance. Does this mean that people who have no political connections and are not democrats will now receive consideration for employment with the clerks office? That might be the single biggest way to ensure diversity, especially.
