Cook County commissioner wants to delay vote on Columbus Day name change – Chicago Sun-Times*

Commissioner Stanley Moore, a descendant of Black people enslaved by Native Americans, says  tribes are unfairly denying descendants full tribal membership — and so excluding them from such benefits as education and housing assistance and casino profits.

Maybe I’m a little different. I’ve always had a soft spot for native Americans. They lived in the most beautiful land on earth. My ancestors brought misery down on these people along with concrete and asphalt. I’m fine with any program to support these people. Now we have community activists or professional freeloaders want a taste just because of gibs me dat mentality.

So you’re saying that the son is responsible for the sins of the father? Because that’s what you’re saying…

My ancestors were from England and Ireland. My father was very English and my mother very Irish. They both passed of natural causes in old age. I never recall the police coming to our home because my parents were trying kill each other. My ancestors emigrated to the United States to escape tyranny or possibly the police. I fail to recall any murders in our home; even during the holidays!

The only reason the attacks on Columbus occur is because of anti Italian /white racism first perpetrated by Lori, Sophia King and the Grant Park Advisory council who gave into blm and antifa when removing the statues. Since that time crime has increased exponentially because the blm terrorists know they can get away with anything.

I love it when these scams collapse under their own weight. Can’t 100% of the population trace their genealogies to someone who was a slave at some point or otherwise aggrieved? And therefore have a claim against…someone?

The grifters are drunk with power. It’s crazy to think that the American Indians today, who were nearly wiped out from disease, war and colonizers, have somehow now become the oppressors, because some people shared genetic ancestry with them 200 years ago owed some slaves and refuse to give their descendants tribal membership. Talk about overplaying your hand.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
