Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx Talks Crime Stats, Jason Van Dyke and Wrongful Convictions in One-on-One Interview – WTTW (Chicago)

Among other things, Foxx said, “Certainly I remind folks that our office gets involved once an arrest is made and someone is presented to us for prosecution, and so we have to make sure that one, people are being arrested, that they are brought to us for charges, and we have brought charges where appropriate."

Let it never be said that Kim does not take action. When presented with a slam dunk guilty perp, with overwhelming evidence she takes decisive action. She grabs that broom and sweeps it under the rug. He’s home in time for dinner. Problem solved.

How is it that almost all perpetrators of violent crime have long felony records, if appropriate charges are brought most of the time?

If crimes were dealt with appropriately, wouldn’t most offenders have little prior record? They would have to be new to the system, if the system takes care of offenses when they occur.

Don’t try to use logic when analyzing the Cook County justice system. Judge Tim and Lil Kim have their own special way of dealing with criminals. Haven’t you heard of the 30 strikes and you’re out program?
