CPD, officials promise crackdown on drifting, drag racing after incidents in West Loop, Pilsen – ABC7 (Chicago)

"It's extremely upsetting," said Armando Cachon, president of the West Central Association. "We're advocating and we have been for some time to return some of the officers who were taken away from our area and sent elsewhere, and we are asking for them to come back."

This is just moving the bacon from one side of the frying pan to the other. Soon there is more bacon on one side and none on the other. The CPD doesn’t have enough resources so they tried to schedule the hard working cops to be in three places at once, and we all know that the creative scheduling doesn’t work. Brownie is just chasing his tail which is getting further and further away from being caught. Don’t take the bacon reference as an insult, my CPD friends. Although your miserable leadership has you continually in the frying pan, for… Read more »

When this happens , immediately dispatch a couple of dozen garbage trucks or snow plows to the streets leading into that intersection and block any escape from the center.. Arrest everyone caught in that intersection and impound all of the vehicles.
If you can prove that you were not there to watch the show you will not be charged.

Don’t forget buses to whisk away the perpetrators for processing … and quick release by Lil’ Kim.

At least confiscation of the cars would make the ‘young adults’ think twice before setting up another meet … for a few days until their vehicles are released … by Lil’ Kim.

All roads lead to Ms. Foxx. Who the citizens RE-ELECTED. What’s wrong with this picture???

Confiscating vehicles is a great idea except……. I imagine many of those vehicles have outstanding loans and there is this thing called the “innocent owner” exception. A car is seized and there is a $5000 loan on it, the financial institution cant be held responsible and suffer the loss for the actions of the driver. Court cases have upheld this theory, there are exceptions to that rule. Complicated issue. Seize the vehicles, return them to the lender with the provision that they may not return it to the original owner, it must be sold to another outlet at least 1000… Read more »

““The root causes, what we have heard from experts in the field, is that we need more activities for young adults and minors in our community and that is something we are still waiting to see….” So, according to the “experts” who do the woke-n-broke folks-in-charge’s “thinking” for them, young adults and minors get a pass on ripping up the streets and killing people with their cars until taxpayers fund some more nanny-state day care to keep them amused. How Illinois – incentivizing criminality as a justification for raiding working family’s wallets to fund woke-progressive “solutions” that make it my… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
