CPS reopening plan leaves out crucial players – Opinion – Crain’s*

Troy LaRaviere, president of the Chicago Principals & Administrators Association: Chicago Public Schools management has once again introduced a skeletal plan to reopen schools. The plan was contrived without the presence and participation of the teachers, support staff, engineers and principals who’d have to implement it. It’s as if they’re purposefully trying to create a plan that is less likely to succeed by creating it without the people who are critical to its success.

Can you imagine a hospital trying to figure out how to operate during the pandemic without the input of doctors and nurses?

I knew the teachers unions would be the one thing that stops schools from reopening. the membership is teaching from home, thats like being semi-retired, really. a dream come true for a union teacher where every morning they awaken dreaming of retirement and a pension in florida. teachers will instruct their union that members like it at home too much to ever come back, so keep the covid hoax going.

F-Em. Parents with means are leaving by the thousands. The CTU has managed to reverse 30 years of progress since the fat lady and Jessie took over. Our teacher is begging us to not not log in for remote because we hired a tutor instead. Our kid was learning nothing online. She said they lose funding for all the missed attendance which I gather is huge this year based on their emotional appeals. I hope they all choke. As parents we will not be hostages any longer. Let BLM or the allied unions pay for the slack as*es to go… Read more »

Drains continues to shill for the CTU who has no intention of working again. And Troy is a supporter of the domestic terrorist Marxist blm organization.

Where’s the proof that Troy is BLM? There are Blacks who don’t support BLM too.

Ever attend a faculty meeting in a CPS School? 50 to 100 empty headed morons, depending on who shows up on time, all knowing their ideas, wants an needs outweigh anyone else’s. The gathering drones on until someone tries to sneak out and accidentally spills the coffee of a “fellow professional”.
Make a decision and tell the flock what to do!

Oh, I get it. You want to switch form collaboration as a management style to clobberation. Good luck with that idea.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
