Roughly 40% of that spending took place after students returned to campuses for in-person learning in September 2021, at a time when leadership changes left the district without a top IT official for more than a year. Once computers get to the schools, the district has no systematic way to track how they are being used. And the lack of a systemwide digital learning plan has left some educators seeking guidance on how to incorporate the computers into learning — and in some cases, leaving hundreds of devices to gather dust in storage.
Once again folks, don’t confuse CPS spending with education.

Another way for the CPS to overpay and underdeliver. Great way to steal money from the taxpayers. Results of all this spending- ZERO. CPS is DOA.

Yes they replaced the abacus with a newer one that has most of the beads. They upgraded the Victrola for an RCA black and white TV with four legs on it. They also replaced a broken slide rule with another newer version slide rule all for $308M and called it a day.
In the early 80’s, I worked at a new CPS High School that had a 3 bay auto shop. On paper, the school received 3 sets of tools. By the time they opened there was only 3/4 of 1 set of tools left!

Hopefully the computers will be put to proper use, such as watching transgender porn and ordering butt plugs and puberty blockers. It’s important to start such necessary activities early, in kindergarten or even preschool to prepare students for tomorrow’s job market
cps is just a giant $$ pit. End it and start over.
Clearly the parents’ fault.
