At the Loop Alliance Foundation’s annual meeting Thursday morning, members heard about the new Elevate State plan from the urban landscape architecture firm hired to lead the project. Some key elements the plan will consider: how people get around on State Street, and what the infrastructure looks like. It’s a big plan. But then, so is this stretch of State Street.
Stupid, stupid article that ignores WHY State St. is the way it is today. Has anyone actually walked down Street in the recent past? I’m there 3-4 days a week. State st is over half urban sneaker and other shoe stores. There’s a foot locker, some big two story sneaker store, a DSW, a foot locker, aldo, and a dozen others. Sure there’s a target and macys and the capital one cafe, but it’s mostly geared toward the urban crowd. Why is it this way?
