Criticism to Censorship: Illinois Village attempts to Silence Chinese Battery Factory Critics – Country Herald

The Village of Manteno is signaling a clear message: it’s done with the relentless criticism surrounding its Gotion Chinese deal. In a bold act following very intense opposition voiced in two town meetings, the Village channels an authoritarian tone.Comments found themselves disabled when the Village released an FAQ sheet, coupled with a promotional video courtesy of Gotion.

Does WP know of a PAC that would be willing to fund advertising against this plant and giving Commie’s our money? I will happily donate.

JB only won by a few % against a terrible social conservative candidate. I Thank Proft for keeping it as close as it was in this gerrymandered Dem utopia. Start engaging middle class suburban women about something other then Abortion and the ship can sail the other way.

A few percentage points? lol

Some of you really do live in your own fantasy land. I guess losing by over 12 percentage points is now considered close. Maybe next time the GOP will only lose by single digits. Wouldn’t that be something special.

If allowed due process, communities are allowed to present evidence of potential adverse consequences to themselves. By denying Manteno citizens their legal rights, Manteno governments are sitting judges, essentially allowing only plaintiff to speak and forcing defendants to remain silent.

Manteno residents need a lawyer to enforce OMA.
Manteno residents should already be flooding every Manteno government body (and complicit Illinois State offices)with FOIA requests for disgorgement of communication records with Gotion and one another.

We are seeing more arrogance and total dismissal of the people by these public serpents. Hopefully they will continue to overplay their hand and wake more people up. Disgraceful.

It’s not just about massive salary increases, but also about money for migrant students, climate initiatives, abortions and gender-affirming care. About blocking parental notification. Count on CTU’s demands to veer further from reality until the public finally says no.

Gov. Pritzker’s ‘ethics reform’ eliminates competitive elections and choice for voters – Wirepoints on AM 560 Chicago’s Morning Answer

Ted joined Dan and Amy to talk about a new law passed by the Democratic supermajority and signed by Gov. J.B. Pritzker that results in brazen election interference, keeping Republicans off ballots; about a referendum that tests the waters for a renewed progressive income tax hike; about how the Parental Notification referendum question was knocked off the ballot; and why laws like that pass so easily.

Chicago needs more champions of literacy like Willie Wilson – Wirepoints

It’s rare to see city leaders in Chicago take an open, unabashed stance on the collapse of literacy. To complain is deemed as too political, too racist or too anti-public schools. So it’s refreshing to see Willie Wilson, a successful businessman and leader of the black community, call for a literacy initiative “with the goal of getting 100% of Black students reading at grade level.”
