CTA promises there will be more police on Chicago trains after another deadly shooting – FOX32 (Chicago)

More violent incidents have occurred on trains this year than at any time in the past decade.

Where exactly will these officers come from?

The ranks are too low to answer half the 911 call that come in, but they’re going to dedicate more officers for the CTA?

The math doesn’t compute.

Exactly, nobody wants to be the Chicago police anymore. Good work George Soros and Kim.

I believe that’s the long range goal. Can’t explain how that benefits anyone, especially the marginalized community hit the hardest by crime.

Unless/until the Blue get backed by the city, we can expect the early retirements to continue and even accelerate, making a bad situation even worse.

The current leaders would be happy to lord over a wasteland, as long as they’re the ones in power.

Pretty soon the only people on those trains will be cops and gangbangers. The gangbangers will be better armed.

The Red Line has devolved into the Happy Hunting Grounds of gang bangers. There’s really no long term help coming because the victims by and large aren’t part of Lighthead’s and Kim’s base.

What’s needed (and I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet) is for some citizen of sufficient testicular fortitude to despatch a few of these thugs in the same manner Bernie Goetz did decades ago in New York.

And you’ll be jailed by Foxx and Evans for defending yourself.

Wasn’t there just a story about the tens of thousands of *high priority* calls (maybe even more) that go unanswered in Chicago…?

So, my question is, *where* will they get the PO’s to patrol the CTA…?

As Henry Hatch said, you may see them for a day or two, but at what expense…?

Who will get shorted officers for this virtue signaling stunt…?

The house of cards is teetering on collapse…

Dorval Carter is promising more cops. If you believe that you will also believe his next announcement that the CTA will be offering free transportation using unicorn rides instead of train service. You might see cops for a few days, but they will soon be re-assigned to the next sucking chest wound crime crisis somewhere else.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
