The CTU does not deserve a raise for not educating students to meet grade level requirements for reading and math. CTU blames everyone but themselves for the failure of CPS to educate students.
In life you get what you negotiate not always what you deserve. CTU wants 9 percent but will settle for a realistic 5 or 6 percent. Maybe even get their raise back-dated to the start of the school year with a lump sum payment after the contract is ratified.

Build a “force field” to help ward off any interference by the one guy who has some cash– Trump- and hide behind your imaginary barrier with all your flat broke friends– the State, County and City. When Trump disbands the useless Department of Education, one can only hope that the CTU with its force field fantasies and unicorn dreams goes down the tubes with it.
Trump will not be able to disband the department of education. It’s red meat for the base but he is not getting 60 votes in the senate to get it done. I doubt he would get 50.
