Curtailing Chicago’s summer violence will ultimately be Mayor-elect Johnson’s responsibility, Lightfoot says – WBBM (Chicago)

“He now will own responsibility for the day-to-day public safety of residents in this city, and he’s got to work together with the police department, absolutely (he) has to hold them accountable. But, he cannot afford to lose the department, and the worker and the officers over the course of this summer,” Mayor Lori Lightfoot said of Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson.

I don’t think he gives a damn about curtailing violence. He’ll poor gasoline on the raging fire and play his fiddle while Chicago burns.
