Why stop with the police? Just defund Illinois governments, their success record is pathetic anyway.
if the chicago area defunds the police, I will simply stop paying my land taxes then as I no longer get service for them.

That would depend solely upon how good of a shot the homeowner or business owner is.
Ok all property taxpayers in the state of Illinois call for defunding public pensions. Now you have billions and billions of dollars to give to underprivileged communities. Abolish public pensions like everyone of you dirty rotten politicians want to do to the police departments. And after that defund public schools and there’s billions and billions more, privatizing the system and make parents pay for there children not the taxpayers of Illinois. Rise up taxpayers just like everyone else is doing stand up for yourselves

Public employees were specifically excluded from Social Security, so separate funds were set up that the Daley family and other politicians plundered for years resulting in their bankruptcy. And now you want to blame the employees for the mess made by the people that you voted for?

Once the Communists, Socialists and Democratic Party have gotten the police out of their way, the people will have nothing left to defend themselves from the rioting mobs except the 2nd Amendment. Of course the Reds are doing everything possible to get the guns away from the people as well.

Perhaps the remedy is to first remove some of the “laws” that police are tasked to enforce, such as drug prohibitions. Reduce the police workload, then it could make sense to reduce their budget, or transfer those functions which are essential to another organization.
Ironically, that’s exactly what they want.
