Deja new? Preckwinkle vs. Fioretti II features same candidates but different party for challenger – Chicago Sun-Times

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and then Democratic primary challenger Bob Fioretti in 2018.  West Side Republican Bob Fioretti heavily criticized the Promise Guaranteed Income Pilot, calling it a “system designed for failure...We’re not asking people to have job training, seek out jobs or helping them to better their lives, we’re just giving them $500."

Fioretti has a realistic chance to beat Toni Taxwinkle. Black voters do not like her and she has presided over 12 years of failure culminating with the rampant crime directly caused by love-the-criminal-and-hate-the-victim collusion of Taxwinkle, Chief Judge Tim Evans and Kim Fox. Vote Taxwinkle out.

I don’t know. I always assumed Fioretti was an old school Democrat, really no different than Preckwinkle.

This will play out the same as Foxx/O’Brien played out: Preckwinkle is going to win outright but maybe lose the suburbs.
