Democratic States Are Wards of Washington – Wall Street Journal

A lawsuit brought by all 22 states with Democratic attorneys general plus the District of Columbia detailed a litany of programs funded by Uncle Sam. Washington state said it received $121 million last year for allergy and infectious-disease research. Illinois claimed federal Medicaid funds made up 60% of its 2023 spending on “critical health services.”Government, social assistance and healthcare account for nearly all new jobs added in such Democrat-run states as California, New York, Minnesota and Illinois.

Democratic states are about to take it on the chin. They will have to decide what THEY want to pay for, not the feds. Wait till the FY 2026 budget comes out.

When are Illinoisans going to realize when DOGE and Trump are successful in controlling spending Illinois taxpayers will really feel the pain from a bankrupt state?
My advice to all those Illinois working stiffs is to run to another state as fast as you can. You are about to be gang raped by the Illinois Democratic combine.

Threaten to shut down funds, then see who squeals the loudest. And who follows up with whataboutism. Smart lefties invented the term, now they can choke on it.

Not sure about other blue states, but big picture for Illinois dem machine is to convince dopey tax payers to cough up $billions$ more in revenue to make up for all the spent ARPA-COVID $bucks$ now apparently made permanent in state budget to support those living the ‘administrative state’ good life. (2019- $38.5 B to 2025- $53.1 B Illinois gen fund budget?)
Ditto for city of Chicago & crazy 7,000 units of Ill government

The political animals have been strangely silent about all the ‘fiscal cliffs’ they created. The shrieking from the illegal immigration defenders drowned out their whining. The left is in disarray. They have been for some time, but President Trump’s shaking their box to reveal the parts inside has revealed just how poorly managed blue states actually are, with Illinois being among the worst of the lot.

Uncle Fed seems poised at last to cut off the taxpayer-funded allowance. Like a 27 year old ‘professional’ video gamer who refuses to get a paying job, leftist states are addicted to welfare.

No, keep paying them. It’s OK when we do it, not OK when they do it. Hierarchy not hypocrisy….

It’s going to be entertaining how Pritzger blames PDJT for IL budget deficits. No more sugar for JB.

i love how the GOP likes to blame dems for deficits. Whens the last time a GOP POTUS left with less debt than when they came in?

This article is going to upset the blue state leeches. BJ and JB will be apoplectic spitting furious that the truth is being revealed and, like piglets being yanked from the taxpayer funded teat, will SQUEAL. This corrupt diversion of tax dollar will finally be ended by DOGE and Trump..

As I read the article, I tried to think of an appropriate word to describe the Democrats who destroy the income base in their own locality and then have the gall to seek funds from loan shark Washington. Octopus was the best I could do. Leech is perfect!

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
