Democrats, activists push to decriminalize sex work in Illinois – Center Square

Members of the Sex Worker Advisory Group, or SWAG, said a bill to be filed in the 104th General Assembly that started last week will modernize existing laws and will prioritize the safety, privacy and dignity of adults engaged in consensual sex work. If approved and enacted into law, the measure would also establish a sex workers bill of rights.

Ok, but NIMBY. And that will be the problem, among others.

When you think that the political animals in Springfield could sink no lower. The animals say, “Hold my beer.”

Al Capone would be proud. The only reason the government hated the outfit was because it was cutting in on their turf.

Illinois will sink to amazing depths to feed the Illinois Mismanagement Machine. This state needs to replace many of its leaders with those who have sound work ethics, morals, financial skills, and other attributes needed to run a state responsibly.

Isn’t Illinois Fun?

You can bet someone will develop an Uber type app for this market. Yelp reviews?

Absolutely! You’d see a mad rush of new apps for that. But I suspect the state would try to regulate it and tax it somehow.

Something new to tax for the Illinois politicians is now on the horizon and this is nothing new as the Illinois voters seem to demand it

Wow…how low can these people go. Starting to look and sound like Pottersville. It is amazing how elected officials rarely pass laws or bills that serve to benefit the average citizen who works pays bills and provides the taxes they demand. I haven’t looked yet, but I would be willing to bet that I would not be able to find a single bill offered by any elected official and passed in the passed 50 years that provides additional services or reduced costs for the average majority citizen. Only programs that serve every type of minority you can think of or… Read more »

Let’s put some of our new residents to work in the proposed Bowmanville Chicken Ranch with a few gals specializing in the care of mature gentlemen clientele.

Also, I’m thinking of them instuting a loyalty plan. I can also help with a slogan for the Windy City.

Alright. We now know the Democrats’ plan for solving all of our fiscal woes. Marijuana, hemp, casinos, remote gaming and now hookers. Drugs, gambling and sex. Sounds like where Chicago was a hundred years ago.

No, a hundred yrs ago Chicago was ‘city of big shoulders’–world epicenter of commerce, transportation and industry. The vise was just a side show. Now that Chicago’s been picked clean all you got left is the vise– video gambling, hookers, delta-8 gummys for kids and political equity hustler/carpetbaggers (with $5.5 mil pensions for teaching for 4 yrs)….completely morally pathetic

The room in the Palmer House I was married in is called the Empire Room. That’s what Chicago was when it was built a hundred years ago — an empire. And yes, it has been picked clean as you say.

I told you all this was coming. This is the first step to make Near North a cyberpunk red light district hub of vice. High rise residential, legalized prostitution and drugs, open 24/365 hours, gambling. It’ll be a mini-Vegas in the heart of downtown Chicago.

Spot on. Sin tax is easy money for pol’s to collect. Speaks volumes to how far the city and state has fallen. “Progressive” policies are creating a ghetto state.

On the plus side, all the red lights will be powered by renewable energy and the old Board of Trade building may get some new tenants to trade their “commodity”.

Illinois will be renamed Pritzerville. Next on the agenda will be legalizing all depravity. Reminds of a few cities in the Old Testament – Sodom&Gomorrah.

It never pays financially to avoid giving people what they want. If its not available locally they’ll go where it is.
