Despite Massive Private Sector Layoffs, Illinois Still Scheduled to Give $261M Pay Raises to Government Employees – Illinois Review

"Pritzker should pause the state’s $261 million in scheduled automatic pay raises for state workers. By joining the growing list of Democratic governors who are freezing state worker pay to manage state budgets amid the COVID-19 crisis, Pritzker would give the state more room to address urgent budget priorities while also helping to forestall state worker layoffs down the line."

How many state workers are still sitting at home collecting big checks & doing nothing with 650,000 unemployeed (and who knows how many gig workers)? Where’s anders lindall and the like to explain what all those folks are doing for the $ while people are suffering? The press never asks? And nobody asks why this in morally acceptable

So much for shared sacrifice. Instead of using that $261 million to help minorities survive COVID and unemployment we’ll use it to make vile greedy rich government employees even richer. They can get richer but they can’t get more vile

This story should accompany any story reporting on the ridiculously tone deaf bailout request floated by our dear Democratic leaders.
