‘Disrupt the status quo:’ Chicago’s progressive mayor gets fiery in City Club visit – WGNTV (Chicago)

While his progressive agenda may be a tough sell for the business crowd, Mayor Brandon Johnson insists the city’s working class is with him. “I will never turn my back on young people no matter what any of you all say about them,” he said. “I’ll be doggone if I allow anybody in this room or anybody in this city make me flinch when it comes to investing in public education. “

Yep, that’s exactly what guys like him and Obama do. Disrupt. Cause problems. Push change. Dump on the old guard all day long. The problem is they have nothing to offer in place of the status quo. Hell, Obama was President of the United States, and he had his basketball buddy former head of the Chicago public schools Arne Duncan as Sec of Ed for 8 years, and what did they do to improve things? Absolutely nothing. So it is a terribly cruel hoax on those naive voters who support people like that who are promised improvements, and not only… Read more »

Disrupt the stats quo? He’s perpetuating it with his ridiculous spending ideas that if implemented would only expand the enormous public debt his party has larded Illinois residents with for decades.

Sooner or later reality will sink in for the SJW’s awed by Panicky’s Marxist rhetoric, surrounding him self with cop hating race baiters and antics designed to distract from his total failure as a mayor.

He can only play pied piper to the young… Those uneducated and still enwrapped in compassion… Those who cannot process second order impacts and understand the disservice this MORON is driving.

Paid a large sum of cash for my kids to attend private school… Don’t begrudge my property taxes contributing to the education of many, but DO rebel against the harm caused by CTU and CPS… And Mayor BJ…

At this point, THEY (the dependents) deserve what they get… Let it crumble – it is the only hope for the home of “Grand Plans”, etc.

Well Mayor if the past is any guide “investing in public education” or, if you will, throwing more money at the problem has had poor results other than hiking educator salaries and increasing staff.

The mayor wants under 500 homicides per year. So 499 is O.K. with him.

Brando’s ignorance is only outweighed by his arrogance. He’s getting national recognition now for being the worst big city mayor in the country, a title he will wear proudly.

His arrogance is the effect to the cause…his ignorance.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
