I am not a Trump fan and I am not arguing for/against the Grain Belt Express. However, the US has an energy problem – we don’t need a transition, we need supplementation as we use more and more energy every day. One only needs to observe the race between many parties in the small modular reactor sector. A key to getting additional power where it needs to be is additional capacity in electrical transmission. If you think coal occurs w/o eminent domain, then you are not very well informed. Small modular reactors will be online soon and that is the key to our necessary energy in the future. Coal is fine, but it is less energy dense than an SMR.
