The U.S. Department of Energy has canceled $4.9 billion in federal loans for the Grain Belt Express, a proposed multistate transmission line that faced pushback from Illinois landowners over concerns about property rights and eminent domain. In 2018, the 5th District Appellate Court ruled the ICC lacked authority to grant the necessary certificate because Grain Belt Express did not meet the definition of a public utility. The case is now before the Illinois Supreme Court.
I am not a Trump fan and I am not arguing for/against the Grain Belt Express. However, the US has an energy problem – we don’t need a transition, we need supplementation as we use more and more energy every day. One only needs to observe the race between many parties in the small modular reactor sector. A key to getting additional power where it needs to be is additional capacity in electrical transmission. The US needs to modernize existing transmission and supplement it with additional transmission capacity. Eminent domain will necessarily be required and some people will lose property.… Read more »
If you think coal occurs w/o eminent domain, then you are not very well informed. Small modular reactors will be online soon and that is the key to our necessary energy in the future. Coal is fine, but it is less energy dense than an SMR.

The Democrat rigged IL Supremes can do whatever they want – the $$$ are gone.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.

Fire the coal plants back up America needs reliable energy not solar or wind
No eminent domain(Government theft)!
