Editorial: Does the mayor have a plan to address Chicago’s crime problem? – Crain’s*

"What’s exasperating, infuriating or depressing, depending on the day, is the sense that no one in a position of leadership at City Hall or at police headquarters has a plan to reverse this seemingly relentless wave of violence and destruction. The bond between residents and police is utterly broken. The tally of deaths and injuries rises almost daily. Angela Gregg is right. Someone has to step up and say something. We’ve said it before and, sadly, we’ll likely have to say it again:

What is the plan, mayor?"

Defunding the police is not the answer Lori.

We have a serious crime problem and our citizens and taxpayers are the victims. Mayor Lightfoot’s, the City Council, and the States Attorneys’ decisions have cost Chicago and its people everything.

Crains, part of the legacy fake news media, still lives in the old world paradigm, where ‘crime’ is bad and the politician’s job is to address crime. Sorry, but we no longer live in that world. We live in a world of anarcho-tyranny, where crimes is a feature of urban living and compliance with the regime’s tyrannical edicts are paramount. It’s right in front of your face. You can’t miss it and it cannot be denied. Crime is increasing, slow response times, vilification of the police and first responders, revolving door jails, refusal to charge repeat criminals, gangs controlling large… Read more »

What’s the color of the sky on your planet? People who are unvaccinated are, by a wide margin, the people becoming very ill, being admitted to the ICU and dying. That’s your definition of “increasingly ineffective”? I’ll take it.

What’s the color of your sky? The medical center I’m affiliated with has more admissions of vaccinated patients than unvaccinated. Again, older vaccinated patients with preexisting conditions. Dirty little secret that is unreported because it doesn’t conform to the party line.

“What’s the color of the sky on your planet? People who are unvaccinated are, by a wide margin, the people becoming very ill, being admitted to the ICU and dying.” First of all, the unvaccinated are not dying. Only a very small percentage of the unvaccinated are dying today just as they were in 2020. Most high risk patients have taken the vaccine, and most took a long time ago. Hence the high percentage of elderly and those with comorbidities are vaccinated. Secondly, the it’s becoming increasingly clear, through real time evidence and data out of Israel, Iceland, and even… Read more »

The evidence out of Israel also strongly suggests that that natural immunity from those who had Covid is stronger than the vaccine. And getting the vaccine after having natural immunity can be dangerous. When Dr. Fauci was asked about natural immunity vs vaccine, he had no answer. So, there ARE people who don’t need the vaccine, let alone a mandate to get it.

Which definition of “vaccinated” are you using? The WHO changed it, along with the definition of “pandemic”.

Sorry you true believers weren’t paying attention.

Covid is 300% worse now than when we had no vaccine. Why? Because the vaccinated are spreading it like wildfire. The vaccinated can comfortably carry a very high nasal viral load, and so spread it. And we know the vaccine is crap, if it were such a great vaccine then why does it “fall apart” in the face of a few unvaccinated?

Wow, Crain’s mouthing off to Lori with a question everyone already knows the answer! Her standard response is to stand behind her podium, snarl and jab her fingers at everyone; meaning it’s your fault! Lori, you opened the bottle! You should ask Dick Durbin for help! Here I thought Merritt Garland would have everything wrapped up by Labor Day! Anyone know if he’s still in town?

Dear Lori, The chasm between citizens and politicians is much bigger than ever; most citizens prefer good policing and safe communities to the thieving, self-serving, totally destructive, demagoguing political/activist class.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
