Dolton mayor to critics: ‘I’m the leader!’ – WGNTV (Chicago)

Mayor Tiffany Henyard’s opponents on the village board say they don’t trust that money is going to where it’s intended so they’ve blocked attempts to pay bills that don’t come with detailed explanations. To them, Henyard replied, “You all should be ashamed of yourselves because you all are Black. You all are Black! And you all sitting up here beating and attacking a Black woman that’s in power. You all should be ashamed of yourselves."

Her antics remind me of those of some crazed drag queens… she’d do well on “RuPaul’s Drag Race”, lol…

She’s a black mayor trying to raise black children in a black community while maintaining her high maintenance lifestyle on black media. Sounds familiar.

Buried in the article and not addressed really is this comment: At the end of the day, vendors aren’t being paid. The board approved it, but vendors aren’t being paid,” Dolton trustee Jason House said. So vendors are are billing the village, the board is approving the payments, but the payments aren’t being made. The unstated implication here is that she’s embezzling the funds that should otherwise be used to pay the vendors. Wow, the video of this fit she threw at a City Council meeting is…sad, but comical. I thought I was watching an episode of Parks & Rec for a moment with a spoof on some council meeting someplace…till you listened to what she was saying. She somehow tries to defend her behavior of spending and the ridiculous salary and the ordinance she put in place to guarantee no one ever runs against her. She has no shame. And simply shouts down anyone who opposes her antics.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
