Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The event has been cancelled. To our Downers Grove Community: For the safety of everyone involved, the difficult decision has been made to cancel the upcoming Drag Queen Bingo program due to threats made against the Downers Grove Public Library. These threats are currently under active investigation by law enforcement. Providing an inclusive, welcoming, and safe space for everyone in the Downers Grove community is of the utmost importance to the library. We recognize the significance of offering services and programs like Drag Queen Bingo that provide a window to the world, as well as a mirror to… Read more »
PPF, I thought you were writing this yourself as parody until I go to the end! We will post it.
Almost 2 hours of public comments at the Village of Downers Grove Meeting on 9/6/2022. Worth a listen. The vast majority are opposed to this. Some great speakers. If you have time listen to it. If my link does not work, search Village of Downers Grove You Tube and click on the meeting from the 6th of September.

Thanks for the link. The meeting was illuminating. Residents of Downers Grove have reason to be concerned, and clearly there are council members hellbent on furthering a personal agenda, and have no interest in representing the community. This will be interesting to monitor over the coming weeks.
Nothing against drag queens — but like all other adult entertainment, drag shows are wildly inappropriate for children
I picture every drag queen event planned like the dwarf-tossing scene from “Wolf of Wall Street”. Just a bunch of library staff all talking about the ways to exploit the drag queens yet somehow try to not appear inhumane.
“Hey, let’s hold an activity normally reserved for old folks homes in our library, but use drag queens in a prejudiced manner so we can troll conservatives. Maybe we can get the drag queen can sing too! Those people like to sing, right? I dunno, maybe something from Katy Perry. Those people love Katy Perry, right? It’ll piss sooo many people off!”
That’s exactly what this is. Trolling conservatives. The leftists in the library system get upset when the community tells them what books to lend and what programs to host. They respond by going globohomo and drag queen. Even this director, Julie Milavec, Library Director, wants to celebrate national coming out day. Why exactly is the library celebrating globohomo?
